Howdy, I'm Skelly and I want to poke holes in your face! Or just about anywhere you would like actually :) My real name is Shelly but I go by the nickname given to me by my mentor years ago.
I'm a professional body piercer, professional goofball, aspiring body artist and sometimes I pose for the camera too. My job is to give you a safe, comfortable and clean piercing experience. My passion is to see the beautifully healed end result. Not only do I perform basic piercings, but I also offer some genital piercings and microdermal anchors. I am bloodborne pathogen certified, and first aide certified aswell.
I have been piercing professionally in a studio since 2007, including my in-shop apprenticeship time. My apprenticeship was about a year and a half long, and was done under a well seasoned mentor that had been piercing for over a decade.
I'm originally from Baltimore, Maryland, but I have also worked in Delaware and now Pennsylvania. I have moved a couple of times for new opportunities, and it always gets better! I believe that I learn more each time, that I grow from the experiences I have had, and the interesting people that I meet along the way. It doesn't matter if all of those experiences were bad or good, because its about learning from them. When I left my first shop in Pasadena, MD, it was hard to leave where I had gotten my start. I was incredibly lucky to turn 18 and to start learning before I even graduated highschool, thanks to an early birthday and the opening of a new studio in my town. Imagine how excited I was to get a call that I was accepted to learn about body piercing after steadily expressing my interest! In all actuality... I bugged the crap out of him for a few weeks!
Not everything was fun or interesting. There was a lot of hard work poured into everything I did, a lot of researching and a lot of hard lessons. But I pushed myself to be a well rounded and successful piercer because body piercing was never about money or about getting to look as I pleased. After some time working on my own, and my mentor considering me to be capable, I moved on to another studio. There I continued to further my knowledge, as I still do today.
My goals are to eventually become a member of the APP (Association of Professional Piercers) as I follow many of their guidelines/regulations already (and continue to implement more), to travel, to meet more people in the industry (or out of it), and to continue to increase my knowledge in my area.
So if you would like to adorn yourself with something new, need help with anything from trouble shooting or interested in jewelry, I'm more than happy to try to help! Please stop in and meet me!
